VIAVI IFF-45TS MK XIIA & TACAN Bench Test Set

The VIAVI IFF-45TS is a high-performance RF signal generator and receiver specifically designed for engineering development, manufacturing verification, calibration, and return-to-service testing of modern Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), ADS-B, DME, and TACAN systems

Built on a flexible Software Defined Radio (SDR) architecture, the IFF-45TS provides comprehensive testing capabilities for MK XIIA transponders and interrogators, including Modes 1, 2, 3/A, C, S, 4, and 5. The integrated Mode 5 emulator enables secure Mode 5 testing without requiring actual cryptographic appliqués or operational encryption keys, significantly simplifying development and maintenance workflows

The system supports both direct-connect and over-the-air (OTA) testing, allowing users to validate airborne and ground-based avionics equipment under realistic operating conditions. Dual RF signal generators provide advanced capabilities for diversity, interference, and echo testing, while integrated ADS-B Out monitoring supports verification of ADS-B, ADS-R, TIS-B, and acquisition squitters

In addition, the IFF-45TS emulates both TACAN ground transponders and airborne TACAN interrogators, supporting Ground-to-Air, Inverse Ground-to-Air, Air-to-Air, Inverse Air-to-Air, Beacon Ground-to-Air, and Beacon Air-to-Air test modes. The instrument is fully certified to DoD AIMS MK XIIA Level 1 and Level 2 standards, making it an ideal solution for military avionics manufacturers, integrators, and maintenance facilities
