The VIAVI IFF-45TSL MK XIIB/TACAN Bench Test Set is a next-generation RF signal generator and receiver designed for avionics engineering, production testing, depot maintenance, and return-to-service verification. The system provides comprehensive testing capabilities for MK XIIB IFF transponders and interrogators, TACAN/DME navigation equipment, ADS-B systems, and Mode 5 applications within a single, highly capable platform
Designed to meet the demanding requirements of military and aerospace organizations, the IFF-45TSL supports testing of Modes 1, 2, 3/A, C, S, 4, and 5 while also providing TACAN and DME simulation capabilities. The system can emulate both TACAN ground transponders and airborne interrogators, making it ideal for laboratory, production, and field support environments
The platform features significantly enhanced DSP, FPGA, processor, and memory resources, delivering improved RF performance, greater stability, and expanded testing functionality. Integrated ADS-B In and ADS-B Out capabilities support monitoring and verification of ADS B, TIS B, ADS R, and acquisition squitters
An optional Target Generator enables simulation of up to eight configurable aircraft targets with customizable Flight ID, aircraft address, bearing, range, altitude, interrogation modes, and squitter parameters. Each simulated target can generate real-time responses to received interrogations and transmit ADS-B and Mode 5 Level 2-B squitters for advanced operational testing
The IFF-45TSL supports direct-connect and over-the-air testing with operational ranges of up to 3 km using suitable antennas. Ethernet (VXI-11), RS-232, and IEEE-488/GPIB interfaces simplify integration into automated test systems and production environments
